The Restigouche watershed includes the main river, its tributaries, forests, cold-water habitats, communities, fishing traditions and Atlantic salmon migration routes. Its scale and geography connect the work undertaken in both provinces.

Water, sediment, temperature and land-use pressures move through this connected landscape. Protecting salmon habitat therefore calls for collaboration across municipal, provincial, Mi’gmaq and community boundaries.
